1.  It is recommended that you not eat a heavy meal for four hours before class. If
you find that difficult or find yourself light headed during class, you may eat
something light. Fruit, juice, yogurt, nuts and such are good suggestions.  Stay well
hydrated during the day of class, but do not drink more than 16 oz. of water
immediately before class.

2.  Wear comfortable loose clothes, lightly layered, or tight stretchy exercise type
clothing.

3.  Yoga is practiced with bare feet. Please leave your shoes in the shelves
provided in the reception area.  Do what you feel comfortable with your valuables.
You may either leave them in reception in a cubby, or bring them into the practice
space.

4.  Turn cell phones and beepers off or put on silent mode, or better yet, leave
them outside.

5.  Mats and blankets are available for your use if you do not have your own. For
hygienic reasons it is kindly suggested that you  purchase your own mat.

6.  Please let the teacher know if you don't want to be touched in class.

7.  Please inform your teachers of any injuries, surgeries and/or other medical
considerations.

8.  Women are encouraged to practice during their period but should refrain from
bandhas (internal muscular contractions) and inversions ('upside-down" postures)
during menses.

9.  Mothers-to-be can safely practice yoga during pregnancy, but a note from your
doctor is required before participation in any of our classes. There are some
modifications, so please let the instructor know if you are pregnant.  Prenatal
classes will be available from time to time throughout the year.

10.  You may come in late, however we ask that you be very quiet and respectful.
If the class is meditating or the teacher speaking, wait until such time passes to
unroll your mat and settle in. If the class is full, the teacher or assistant can help
find a space for you when s/he is done with the opening of class. It is appropriate
to ask someone to kindly move a little to make space for you when the teacher is
not talking.

11.  If you know you must leave class early: ten minutes before you leave lie down
and take some time for  savasana (final relaxation). This is very important for your
practice! Remember savasana is the posture that really creates balance in a
session... for all your work, you must rest. Then sit up and be on your way, quietly
please.

12.  Please, no conversations during class.

13.  DO NOT assist anyone in class, even if you know how. If someone looks like
they are doing something unsafe, let the teacher know. This is for safety and
insurance reasons.

14.  It is ALWAYS appropriate to slow down, back off, take rest and/or watch class
if you need or want to... Talk to your teacher!
